Smithing Stones are a majorly important resource for players to acquire in Elden Ring. This resource is one of the crucial upgrade materials needed to improve your weapons. Like in previous games, players can unlock Smithing Stones for purchase in the hub. To learn how to do this see our How to Buy Smithing Stones 1 & 2 guide below.

Defeat the Crystalian in the Raya Lucaria Crystal Tunnel

To unlock the ability to buy Smithing Stones 1&2 you need to defeat a specific boss. This specific boss is the Crystalian. The Crystalian is located in the Raya Lucaria Crystan Tunnel. Make your way through this location and take all the elevators down until you reach the bottom. At the bottom you will encounter the boss.

The fight with the Crystalian is a little bit odd as it appears you are doing no damage at first. The reason for this is because of the bosses crystal coating. Keep attacking and eventually the coating will break, allowing you to deal more true damage. When you defeat the boss you receive an important item called the Smithing-Stone Miner’s Bell Bearing [1].

Give the Smithing-Stone Miner’s Bell Bearing [1] to the Twin Maiden Husks

Take the Smithing-Stone Miner’s Bell Bearing [1] and head to the Roundtable Hold. Go to the Twin Maiden Husks and offer the Smithing-Stone Miner’s Bell Bearing [1] to them. Doing this unlocks the Smithing Stones 1 & 2 for purchase from them. The prices are as follows:

  • Smithing Stone [1] – 800.
  • Smithing Stone [2] – 1600.

These are the first set of major materials you can unlock from the twins. Once they are unlocked the sisters sell an infinite amount. The next few sets follow the same system. Find a bell, bring it to them, unlock the materials.
