Hollow Knight: Silksong Announced by Team Cherry as A Sequel to Hollow Knight

Hollow Knight Silksong PS4 and PS5 confirmed

Earlier today Team Cherry announced the release of a new sequel to Hollow Knight called Hollow Knight: Silksong. This reveal comes as a bit of a surprise as the Hornet content was originally planned as a DLC offering, but has since grown into its own stand-alone game. Let’s take a closer look at the Hollow Knight: Silksong announcement.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Trailer

The reveal of Hollow Knight: Silksong came in the form of a two minute and three second trailer which highlighted a number of interesting aspects of the new sequel (trailer is above). The first and most important is that you playthrough Hollow Knight: Silksong as Hornet, an important NPC from Hollow Knight. Here’s a brief synopsis of what the game is all about:

As Hornet, princess-protector of Hallownest, adventure through a whole new kingdom haunted by silk and song. Captured and brought to an unfamiliar land, Hornet must battle foes and solve mysteries as she ascends on a deadly pilgrimage to the kingdom’s peak.

Besides embarking on a new adventure, Hollow Knight: Silksong will feature over 150 new enemies, new bosses, new acrobatic combat, new npcs and npc quests, new towns, and new weapons and charms.

Unfortunately for us fans, the trailer gives no sign of when to expect Hollow Knight: Silksong. With that said, Team Cherry has revealed that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be releasing on Windows, Mac, Linux & Nintendo Switch when it does launch. The team also went on to announce that backers of the Hollow Knight kickstarter will receive Hollow Knight: Silksong for free. Not bad at all!
