Great Taste of Pharloom Guide – Hollow Knight: Silksong
Hollow Knight: Silksong includes a variety of side quests that offer both rewarding challenges and deeper insight into the world of Pharloom. One of the most memorable is The Great Taste of Pharloom, where you’ll help the hungry NPC Grand Gourmand track down rare delicacies scattered across the kingdom. This guide will walk you through every step of the quest, from finding the ingredients to completing the storyline, so you can enjoy the full reward and lore behind it.
Where to Start the Great Taste of Pharloom Wish
To begin The Great Taste of Pharloom, travel to the Citadel room marked on the map above. Inside, you’ll meet Mergwin, who will ask you to find five rare delicacies scattered across Pharloom.
The delicacies are:
- Mossberry Stew
- Vintage Nectar
- Courier’s Rasher
- Crustnut
- Pickled Muckmaggot
To complete the Wish you need to acquire all five of the items listed above from specific sources in Pharloom. The sections below will help you find each item.
Where to Find Mossberry Stew
The Mossberry Stew can be obtained from the Moss Druid in Mosshome. Simply travel to Mosshome and speak with the Moss Druid, who will give you the stew.
Where to Find Vintage Nectar
The Vintage Nectar is purchased from Criege at the Halfway Home in Greymoor. Speak to Criege at the desk and pay him 480 Rosaries to unlock the purchase. After buying it, the basement will open. Head downstairs, complete the combat challenge inside, and claim the Vintage Nectar as your reward.
Where to Find the Courier’s Rasher
The Courier’s Rasher comes from Tipp and Pill in Bellhart. First, you must complete the Wish “My Missing Brother” to reunite the siblings. Once that quest is finished, speak to Tipp and Pill to unlock their courier missions. Select the Courier’s Rasher delivery to begin the challenge.
Doing these deliveries is a bit of a challenge. This is a time limit and you cannot use the Bellways or save and quit to the menu. This means you will need to find a safe and easy route to follow. This video does a pretty good job at showing a route.
Where to Find the Crustnut
The Crustnut is located in the Sands of Karak, but you will need the Clawline to reach it. Once you have this ability, travel into the Sands of Karak and make your way to the marked room. Inside, you will find the Crustnut waiting to be collected.
Where to Find the Pickled Muckmaggot
The Pickled Muckmaggot can be found in the Sinner’s Road. Progress through the area until you reach the designated room. Hit the gong in this room to start a combat challenge. Complete the challenge to get the Pickled Muckmaggot.
Making the Deliveries to Mergwin
You can either deliver each delicacy to Mergwin individually as you collect them, or save time by bringing all four items first and finishing with the Courier’s Rasher before making a single delivery. The one-delivery method is generally faster and less disruptive to your exploration.
Once you hand over all five delicacies, Mergwin will prepare a special dish for the Grand Gourmand. The Grand Gourmand will then appear, consume the meal, and bring the Wish to a close. Completing The Great Taste of Pharloom rewards you with the Glutton achievement/trophy as well as a piece of Pale Oil, which can be used to upgrade your needle.
