Carrion, the unique reverse-horror indie game, features a total of 21 achievements. These range from simple story-based milestones to more complex tasks, such as finding all Containment Units. Carrion Achievements Breakdown
The achievements in Carrion are divided into two categories: unmissable and missable. The majority of achievements are unmissable and can be earned by simply progressing through the main story. However, a handful of achievements are missable and require additional effort to obtain, particularly when it comes to discovering the game’s hidden Containment Units.
By playing through the main storyline and completing the core levels, you will likely unlock around 17 of the 21 achievements without needing to explore too much. The remaining four achievements are missable and depend on finding specific items scattered throughout the levels.
Unmissable Achievements
These achievements are story or combat-related, and you will unlock them naturally as you progress through the game. Here’s a list of the unmissable achievements:
- Flesh of Prey: Eat your first person (unlocked early in the game during the story).
- It’s Alive: Complete the BSL-4 Research Ward level.
- Machines Can Expire Too: Complete the Military Junkyard level.
- The Derelict: Relive the first flashback sequence in the Frontier. This is required to advance the story.
- Claustrophobia: Complete the Uranium Mines level.
- Intoxication: Complete the Hazardous Waste Landfill level.
- The Perfect Organism: Relive the second flashback sequence in the Frontier. Required for progression.
- There’s Something in Those Trees: Complete the Botanical Gardens level.
- We Need to Go Deeper: Complete the Leviathan Reef Base level.
- A Cerebral Feast: Harvest your first ripe juicy head (this happens naturally as you rip the head off an enemy).
- Stakeholder Meeting: Complete the Relith Science HQ level.
- Water Under the Bridge: Complete the Leviathan Reef Base level.
- Get to the Choppa: Relive the final flashback sequence in the Frontier. Required for progression.
- Ionized: Complete the Nuclear Power Plant level.
- War… War Never Changes: Complete the Armored Warfare Facility level.
- 4 8 15 16 23 42: Complete the Bunker level.
- The New Reality: Complete Carrion.
These achievements will be unlocked as you progress through the main levels and story of the game. There’s no need for extra exploration for these, but make sure to pay attention to each level’s objectives to make sure you don’t miss anything important.
Missable Achievements
The following achievements require you to locate hidden Containment Units scattered throughout various levels in the game. There are 9 Containment Units in total, and missing any of them will prevent you from unlocking some of these achievements. Below are the achievements related to Containment Units:
- One Monster, One Jar: Gain access to 1 Containment Unit.
- Jarring Experience: Gain access to 3 Containment Units.
- Jean-Michel Jar: Gain access to 6 Containment Units.
- Jared Stults: Gain access to all 9 Containment Units.
