Braid, the highly praised indie game, will release a special anniversary edition on April 30, 2024. This version brings new songs, enhanced graphics, and technical improvements for smoother gameplay.

The original Braid debuted on Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox 360 in 2008, becoming a solo project success by Jonathan Blow. It played a crucial role in catalyzing the indie title movement, with rapper Soulja Boy discussing the game in an early-meme event that created a flurry of discussion of the game’s true meaning.

In the upcoming Anniversary Edition, players will be able to relive the core 2008 experience with added improvements. Martin Stig Andersen and Hans Christian Kock are crafting new mixes and variants of the soundtrack. Original artist David Hellman has ‘hand-repainted’ graphics and added extra frames to animations for enhanced smoothness.

The new version also comes with bonus content, including a developer’s commentary track offering insights into the design process. There’s also a toggle to switch between old and new Braid, allowing players to witness real-time changes.

Braid Anniversary Edition is set to launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, PC, and Netflix on April 30, 2024.
