All Challenges in Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 features 90 challenges spread across nine different categories. Completing these challenges rewards you with special equipment, XP boosts, and contributes toward 100% completion in the game.

In this guide, we’ll break down all 90 challenges, including their requirements, rewards, and how to track your progress.

How Challenges Work in Red Dead Redemption 2

Each challenge category contains 10 tasks that must be completed in order. For example, if you’re working on a Horseman Challenge, you must finish the first challenge before unlocking the next one.

Explorer – Find hidden treasures.
Gambler – Win at table games.

Hold up 5 townsfolk.
Rob any 2 coaches or return 2 stolen ones to the Fence.
Rob 4 shop registers in one day.
Rob 3 coaches or return 3 stolen ones in a day.
Amass a $250 bounty in one state.
Steal 5 horses and sell them to the Horse Fence at Clemens Cove.
Rob $50 worth of valuables from townsfolk.
Steal 7 wagons and sell them to the Fence at Emerald Ranch.
Hogtie someone and leave them on the railroad 3 times.
Complete 5 train robberies without getting caught.

Explorer Challenges

Find a Treasure Map.
Find 9 treasures.

Gambler Challenges

Win 5 hands of poker.
Double down and win in Blackjack 5 times.
Win 3 games of Five Finger Fillet.
Bust a poker table at Flatneck Station, Saint Denis, and Valentine.
Win 3 rounds of dominoes without drawing any tiles.
Beat the Blackjack dealer in Rhodes and Van Horn.
Beat the Five Finger Fillet player in Strawberry, Valentine, and Van Horn.
Win 3 Blackjack hands with 3+ hits.
Win 3 dominoes games in a row.
Win 3 poker hands in a row.

Herbalist Challenges

Pick 6 Yarrow.
Pick and eat 4 berries.
Craft 7 items using Sage.
Pick 5 mushrooms and feed them to your horse.
Craft 9 items using Indian Tobacco.
Pick 15 different herb species.
Craft and use 5 special miracle tonics.
Use Oleander to craft 6 poison weapons.
Pick one of each herb species.
Season and cook all 11 types of meat.

Horseman Challenges

Kill 5 rabbits from horseback.
Jump over 3 obstacles in 15 seconds.
Ride from Valentine to Rhodes in under 5 minutes.
Drag a victim for 3300 feet using a lasso.
Trample 5 animals on horseback.
Ride from Strawberry to Saint Denis in under 9 minutes without touching water.
Kill 7 enemies from horseback without dismounting.
Kill 9 predators from horseback.
Ride from Van Horn to Blackwater in under 17 minutes without touching water.
Break every wild horse breed.

Master Hunter Challenges

Skin 3 deer.
Collect 3 perfect rabbit pelts.
Track 10 animal species with binoculars.
Call and clean kill 5 animals.
Skin 3 black or grizzly bears.
Kill 5 cougars with a bow and skin them.
Use bait to lure and kill a herbivore and predator.
Catch 3 fish without a fishing rod.
Catch an opossum playing dead.
Find and kill the legendary panther “Giaguaro.”

Sharpshooter Challenges

Kill 3 flying birds.
Kill 2 different animals in the same Dead Eye use.
Kill 5 birds from a moving train.
Kill an enemy at 80 feet with a tomahawk.
Kill 6 animals without reloading.
Kill an enemy at 660 feet with a scoped rifle.
Get 7 headshots in a row.
Disarm 3 enemies without reloading.
Shoot 3 hats off in the same Dead Eye use.
Kill 3 flying birds with consecutive scoped shots.

Survivalist Challenges

Catch 3 Bluegill fish.
Donate 5 animals to camp or a trapper.
Kill 5 animals with a varmint rifle.
Craft dynamite, fire, improved, poison, and small game arrows.
Catch a fish from a riverboat and on train tracks.
Kill a scavenger animal while it’s feeding 5 times.
Kill 8 small animals with consecutive small game arrow shots.
Craft a homing tomahawk, improved tomahawk, volatile dynamite, and volatile fire bottle.
Catch a fish over 19 lbs.
Catch every fish type in the game.

Weapons Expert Challenges

Kill 3 enemies with a knife.
Kill 3 enemies in 10 seconds using throwing knives.
Kill 3 birds of prey with a tomahawk.
Kill 10 enemies with a shotgun using crafted ammo.
Kill 5 mounted enemies with 1 throwing knife per kill.
Kill 4 enemies with a single stick of dynamite.
Kill 4 enemies consecutively by throwing and retrieving the same tomahawk.
Kill 15 enemies with a long-barreled shotgun.
Kill 9 unaware enemies from behind with a bow.
Kill a grizzly bear with only throwing knives without taking damage.

Completing all 90 challenges in Red Dead Redemption 2 is no easy feat, but the rewards make it worthwhile. Each category unlocks special gear, improves your Dead Eye, Stamina, and Health, and gets you closer to 100% game completion.
