Where to Find the Cyclops in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

At first, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey seems grounded in historical realism. But once you reach Atlantis, the game leans into mythology, introducing legendary creatures like the Cyclops. If you’re working on The Gates of Atlantis questline, you’ll need to track down and defeat this massive beast. To help you in the game, here’s where to find the Cyclops in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Step 1: Complete the Required Quests

Before you can fight the Cyclops, you must complete a series of side quests on Kythera Island.

1. Complete “A God Among Men”

• Travel to Kythera Island and find a civilian arguing with a priestess near a statue.
• He’ll ask you to rescue Empedokles, a self-proclaimed god, from Murex Fort.
• Head to Murex Fort, located just north of the statue. Approach carefully, free Empedokles from his cell, and escort him to safety.
• Follow him south and talk to him again. He’ll ask for your help on his next task.

2. Complete “Left to Dye”

• Empedokles wants a key, which is in the hands of a thief.
• Find the thief on the road between the Murex Dye Facility and Kythera.
• Kill the thief and loot the key.
• Return to Empedokles to receive your next objective.

3. Complete “Stairway to Olympos”

• Empedokles asks you to meet him on the Isle of Thisvi (also called the Forgotten Isle), located south of Phokis.
• Climb to the center of the island and jump into the hole.
• Swim through the cave to find Empedokles near a massive door.
• Use the key to unlock the gate—and get ready for battle!

Step 2: Defeating the Cyclops

When the gate opens, you’ll come face-to-face with Brontes – The Thunderer, a towering Cyclops.

Cyclops Boss Fight Strategy

1. Phase One:
   • Brontes will charge at you immediately.
   • Use a bow to target his eye for critical damage.
   • Dodge his slow but powerful melee attacks.
2. Phase Two (50% Health Remaining):
   • Brontes picks up a giant stone as a weapon, increasing his attack range.
   • Stick to dodging and ranged attacks to avoid heavy damage.
   • Use Adrenaline abilities to land high-damage hits when safe.

Cyclops Fight Rewards

After defeating Brontes, you’ll receive:

• Drachmae (in-game currency)
• XP
• Polyphemos Cyclops Bludgeon (Legendary Heavy Blade)
• Prize of the Cyclops (Quest Item)
• “Eye on the Prize” Achievement/Trophy
