Featured image on where to buy SDUs in Borderlands 3

When you first start playing Borderlands 3 you will notice you run out of space in a lot of things rather quickly. Things like ammo, grenades, backpack space, and even Lost Loot all have relatively low starting amounts. To change these numbers you want to purchase SDUs – Storage Deck Upgrades. Below I will show you where to buy SDUs in Borderlands 3.

Note: To gain access to SDUs you need to first complete the Sanctuary mission. Once you’ve beaten this mission you can purchase SDUs from Marcus.

Buy SDUs from Marcus

As you advance the story of Borderlands 3 you will leave Pandora via a ship named Sanctuary. This ship acts as Borderlands 3’s hub area. On the ship you will find a number of amenities including Marcus Muntions. Marcus deals in all things weapons including SDUs. Here’s all the SDUs Marcus Muntions sells:

  • SMG SDU: Permanently increases the amount of SMG Ammo you can carry by 180.
  • Grenade SDU: Permanently increase the amount of grenades you can carry by 1.
  • Backpack SDU: Permanently increase the number of items you can carry in your backpack by 3.
  • Assault Rifle SDU: Permanently increase the amount of Assault Rifle ammo you can carry by 140.
  • Pistol SDU: Permanently increase the amount of Pistol ammo you can carry by 100.
  • Shotgun SDU: Permanently increase the amount of Shotgun ammo you can carry by 20.
  • Sniper Rifle SDU: Permanently increase the amount of Sniper Rifle ammo you can carry by 12.
  • Bank SDU: Permanently increase the number of items you can carry in your Bank by 5.
  • Lost Loot SDU: Permanently increase the number of items you can carry in your Lost Loot by 1.
  • Heavy SDU: Permanently increase the amount of Heavy ammo you can carry by 3.

There are a total of eight purchasable SDUs for each class of SDU listed above. Each purchase you make of an SDU within a class increases the cost of the next purchase (1K, 3K, 9K, etc.). As you advance through the game you are going to want to purchase more SDUs.
