So you finally did it. You encountered all of the Illumina Pokémon and snapped a number of photos along the way before the credits rolled in New Pokémon Snap. But the credits rolling doesn’t mark the end of your adventure. In fact there are a few activities that only become available once you’ve completed the game. This makes it possible to continue your playthrough even after beating the game. To help get you started here’s what to do after beating New Pokémon Snap.

Note: SPOILERS BELOW.

Find and Photograph Legendary Pokémon

During your playthrough of New Pokémon Snap you may have noticed a distinct lack of legendary Pokemon in the different courses. This is intentional as the legendary Pokémon in the game become findable once you’ve completed the main story. These legendary creatures will begin to pop up. In total there are 10 to find. These Pokemon are:

  • Xerneas
  • Shaymin
  • Mew
  • Celebi
  • Ho-Oh
  • Lugia
  • Suicune
  • Diancie
  • Manaphy
  • Jirachi

All of the above listed Pokémon will appear in specific courses after the game is completed. Our legendary Pokémon location guide can point you in the direction of finding them all if you so desire. If that’s not needed happy hunting.

Reach Research Level 4 on All Courses

Each time you complete a course and snap pictures you have the chance of earning Research Points from various categories. These points contribute to a courses Research Level which unlocks new routes, Pokémon, and Pokémon interactions. The max level you can get on each course is Research Level 4. Reaching this level on each course requires a bit of work on your part and a lot of time will need to be dumped into accomplishing this. Part of what will help you reaching higher levels on each course.

Complete LenTalk Request

Some of the most interesting interactions in the game come from completing LenTalk requests. These requests often point you towards interesting events in each of the courses. There are a ton to complete and you will unlock more as you reach Research Level 4 in each expedition. You also receive unique rewards from many of the requests so it is a must if you are a completionist.

Fill Your Photodex with All Pokemon and Stars

Like every Pokémon game the main goal of New Pokémon Snap is to find and photograph them all. In the case of this game you are filling in a Photodex. This collection is a running album of the different photos of Pokémon you’ve taken in the game. Each Pokémon has their own entry with room for up to four photos.

Rise up the Online Leaderboard

The last endgame activity I will suggest is probably not for everyone. There is an online feature in New Pokémon Snap that adds a bit of a competitive angle to the title with the new leaderboard. You can access this leaderboard through the ‘Internet > Rankings’ option in the lab. Here you can view how you stack up in Photodex Score, Total and Course Score. If you really want to get sweaty try seeing how high you can get your rankings.

These are the main activities you should focus on once you reach the end-game in New Pokémon Snap. If you have anything to add drop a comment for fellow readers below. Be sure to check out our other guides for New Pokemon Snap.
