Things to Do After Beating Elden Ring

Once you’ve conquered Elden Ring you are able to head into New Game+. Before you do that, however, you may wish to complete some activities before starting a new playthrough. To get you on the right track this guide will help. Below are things to do after beating Elden Ring.

Farm and Purchase Useful Materials/Items

Before jumping into the next, more difficult playthrough, you will want to ensure you have a good stack of resources. What resources you want or need are largely up to you. I would suggest farming or purchasing things like Smithing Stones, Glimmering Smithing Stones, Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stones, Grave Gloveworts, and Ghost Gloveworts.

You can also use this time to farm for specific gear. Many of the enemies you encounter will drop the weapons and armor they use. If you want someone’s armor or weapons, spend the time farming them to get their drops. This means when you go into NG+ you have way more build options. Since you are levelled and the enemies are weaker in your first playthrough, getting the drops is much easier now than later.

Clean Up Any Loose Ends You Have

Elden Ring is a huge game and there are chances you missed out on a number of quests and interesting locations. After you’ve beaten the game you can spend a little time exploring areas you may have missed. There are a ton of items and goodies to find, so it is well worth the effort.

As you are exploring you may find quests you missed that you can still complete. Some quests include the finding painter’s locations, catacombs/dungeons, Erdtrees, NPC encounters, hunting dragons and more.

Once you’ve explored the different areas and have done the NPC quests you had remaining, the next step is to kill NPCs. Often NPCs will drop various unique items. These drops typically are bells if they are merchants or potentially weapons, spells, and armor if they are not. NPCs will respawn in your next playthrough.

Upgrade Weapons, Ashes, and Flasks

If you want to give yourself a leg up on your next playthrough you should spend sometime levelling up any weapons you wish to use, as well as your ashes and your flasks. This will put you in a good position to have all options available for your next playthrough. If you want to go sorcery, focus on levelling weapons that compliment that style for example.

Respec Character into a New Build

They say variety is the spice of life and that’s true for Elden Ring. One of the more interesting aspects of the game is the amount of options players have at their disposal. There are so many weapons, armors, spells, and summons to choose from that a lot of enjoyment can come from experimenting. Thankfully you can easily respec you build by speaking with Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon in the Raya Lucaria Grand Library. Give her a Larval Tear to reallocate you skill points into whatever new build you want.

Begin New Game+

Once you beat Elden Ring you unlock the ability to playthrough the story again at a higher difficulty. This is called New Game+. When you are absolutely ready to start again, you can visit the table at the Roundtable Stronghold to begin your next journey. Accepting resets the game world, but the map remains discovered and you retain your level, weapons and armor, and items you have found.

What other Elden Ring end game activities do you suggest players complete? Anything you think should be added to the list? Let me know in the comments below.
