The developer of the widely-loved indie game Stardew Valley, ConcernedApe, has shared insights into the development progress of the upcoming “Update 1.6” for the farming simulator. Despite providing players with a clearer picture of the update’s current status, the announcement, unfortunately, lacks information about the release date.

ConcernedApe updated the Stardew Valley community on the highly anticipated Update 1.6 via X. The indie developer announced that the update has reached content completion and is now in the polishing and bug-fixing stage. The full tweet is as follows:


After ConcernedApe’s tweet on the Update 1.6 progress for Stardew Valley, fans inundated the developer with comments and questions. Notably, someone inquired about the release date, specifically asking if Update 1.6 would be out in 2024. In response, ConcernedApe stated, “yes, absolutely.”

With the release window established, fans began to ask about platforms the update will appear on at launch. ConcernedApe stated that PC would be the first to receive the update. He then said he hopes to roll out the update on the other platforms quickly, especially mobile which has had long delays in the past.

Joining a series of significant updates for Stardew Valley, Update 1.6 will introduce a bunch of fresh content to the base game. This includes new festivals, craftables, and endgame activities.
