Stardew Valley Content Update Complete, Focus On Multiplayer

Eric Barone (AKA ConcernedApe), the developer behind indie hit Stardew Valley, announced on Twitter that he has completed work on an upcoming content update and is now focused solely on finishing multiplayer integration. The content update Barone has completed is scheduled to release alongside multiplayer functionality, and will feature new outdoor decorations, a new town event, and more.

Stardew Valley multiplayer is making serious progress.

Alongside this announcement, Barone tweeted out a look at Stardew Valley multiplayer, stating “4-player Stardew Valley LAN party at my house… it’s really fun,” and he added that multiplayer needs some work, but “the underlying network code is solid.”

How exactly Stardew Valley multiplayer will work remains to be seen, but we do know a few minor details. Barone has confirmed on Twitter that players can marry each other; he also showed off his guest log cabin on friends farm; and revealed the game supports LAN and online play (no word on co-op yet).

Stardew Valley multiplayer is expected to release some time in 2018. Given the more frequent updates out of ConcernedApe, it is fair to say that Chucklefish and ConcernedApe have made serious headway on the new addition.
