How to the Get Crimson King Coin in Remnant 2
The Crimson King Coin quest item drops off of Teleport Fae enemies in the Gilded Chambers. This is a special enemy type that will appear in the biome as you are exploring. When you defeat one of these enemies it drops a Crimson King Coin as part of its rewards. Look for a red item in its loot. The Crimson King Coin has the following description:
The Red Prince is as devious as his parentage. He realized that money has no value but what we give it–that value is held not by the object, but by the Fae who wields it.
You can hold up to 5 Crimson King Coins at one time. To ensure you can trigger either choice with The Red Prince you want to have at least 3 Crimson King Coins available in your inventory. If you don’t encounter enough of the Teleport Fae enemies simply reload the area and go through it again.
What to do with Crimson King Coin in Remnant 2
The Crimson King Coin item is used during you interaction with the Gilded Chambers’ boss The Red Prince. The Red Prince is located at the very end of the biome. When you meet him there is a brief interaction during which he asks you to pay him a tribute. This tribute is paid using the Crimson King Coins you’ve collected. The possible outcomes are:
- Sure. Here is your tribute [Give 3+ Coins] – No boss fight, but you ‘die.’
- Sure. Here is your tribute [Give 2 or less Coins] – Boss fight.
- I am not your subject. I will not pay a tribute. – Boss fight.
Depending on the choice you make determines whether you fight The Red Prince or not. If you give a tribute, but not enough you, or opt not to pay the tribute there is a boss fight. If you pay enough of a tribute there is no boss fight.
The outcome of all choices are that you receive the Bloody Steel Splinter (for not fighting) or the Forlorn Fragment (for fighting), and The Red Prince disappears from the throne room and you can continue to progress the story.
This is not the only interesting puzzle in the Gilded Chamber biome of Losomn. There is a special Plain Ribbon players can find an use to earn rewards. See our Plain Ribbon guide for details on that item.
