Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 Safe Haven Prison Cell Blocks Guide
After you complete the Prison Entrance in Poppy Playtime Chapter 4: Safe Haven, you will arrive in the Prison. This section includes a number of puzzles and a brief combat sequence we need to complete to advance the story. To easily complete this area, use our Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 Safe Haven Prison guide.
Entering the Cell Blocks
When you gain control of your character, you will arrive need to find your way into the Cell Blocks area. This is fairly simple to do. Leave the train through the smashed hole.
Head forward until you reach the wall with the broken ladder. Look up. Pull yourself up to the ledge above you. Go forward and get into the Vent.
Make your way forward until you encounter a hole in the Vent on your right. Look through it and launch your Blue Hand at the Blue Hand Sensor on the wall below. This will open the door to the Cell Blocks. Double back to the train and go through the now open door.
Cell Blocks
Inside the Cell Blocks you will be on the second floor. We need to make our way down to the floor below.
To do this, go towards the on the far end of the corridor that has the red alarm light over it. About halfway turn left. You will see a cell door that is fully open with Smiling Critters in it. Close the door. Open the door to the left of that cell. Drop down the hole in the floor.
In the cell below you will see some Smiling Critters that are blocking the door. Shoot them with your Flare Gun Hand to scare them away.
Open the cell door and step outside. Walk towards the barricade on your left. Walk along it until you see a Blue Hand Sensor on the far wall. Use it to open the nearby cell door.
Open the cell door to right of the barricade (the grey colored one). This reveals a cell with a hole in the wall that has been boarded up. Use your hands to pull the boards off. Go into the cell and go through the hole.
You will end up behind the cells (the Limón is here!). Go forward and enter the cell on your left using the hole in the wall. Go through the cell into the next section of the Cell Block.
Getting the Red Hand Back
In the new Cell Block area head into the room with all of the Bunk Rooms. Head right in this room and go over to the corpse on the floor. Next to the corpse you will find our old friend the Red Hand. Grab it to add it to your inventory.
Survive Smiling Critters Horde
When you leave the Bunk Room, The Doctor will speak to you. He wants to test you to see how strong you are. He does this by opening all of the cell doors, releasing waves of Smiling Critters. Equip your Flare Hand.
To easily complete this sequence, close all of the doors in the area around you. This makes it so the Smiling Critters only come from over the barricade, making the fight much easier to manage, as you just need to shoot flare at them as they jump over.
Upon completing the fight, a path through the barricade will open. Go to the far end of the Cell Block and use the Red Hand on the sensor there. Go upstairs to the Control Room.
How to Solve the Prison Control Room Puzzle
In the Control Room you need to complete a puzzle. This puzzle tasks you with learning a code using a hangman clue. The solution is:
- C = 3
- E = 2
- L = 5
- L = 5
So the code to input in the nearby keypad is “3255.” Input the code and then push the Red Button next to the keypad. This opens the red alarm door on the far side of the prison.
Go over to the door. Go through it. Use your hands to peel the bars off the gate, allowing you to jump and crouch through to enter the Prison Cell Reception area.
Prison Cell Reception & Warden’s Office
Make your way forward and go behind the reception area. There is a Red Hand Sensor on the desk in the reception area. Use your Red Hand on it to open a nearby cell door. If you wish to open and visit the Warden’s Office (optional), see our guide.
Using the sensor opens the door straight in front of the sensor. Go into the open door. Turn left and head down the hallway. Go to the very end and squeeze through the corpse pile. Turn left and grab the Red Key Card the corpse is holding.
Return to the reception area. Use the keycard on the card slot. It will power up another Red Hand Sensor. Use the sensor to open the next door.
Opening this door gives you access to the Red Cell Block area. This area features a few puzzles to complete and our first meeting with Yarnaby. Check out our Meeting Yarnaby guide to complete this new area.
