Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Hornsent Grandam Quest Guide
Hornsent Grandam is a mysterious NPC in Shadow of the Erdtree, whose questline intertwines with the main story. As a member of the Hornsent people, she seeks vengeance just like her kin. Step 1: Find the Storeroom Key
Before meeting Hornsent Grandam, you must first find the Storeroom Key. Begin by navigating through the Belurat, Tower Settlement until you reach the Small Private Altar Site of Grace.
From the Site of Grace, head northwest up the stairs into the courtyard, where you’ll find destroyed buildings with rooftops you can climb. Continue northwest up the next set of stairs, then turn right (northeast) at the top.
Follow the path forward until you reach a room with a ladder. Climb the ladder and loot the body at the top to obtain the Storeroom Key. It’s hard to miss since you need to go this way anyway.
Step 2: Meet Hornsent Grandam
Once you have the Storeroom Key, return to the Small Private Altar Site of Grace. From the Site of Grace, head southwest along the path, dealing with two enemies as you go.
At the end of the path, turn left and use the key to open the door. Inside the Storeroom, you’ll find Hornsent Grandam. Approach and speak with her to learn her backstory and start her quest. After exhausting her dialogue, you can proceed to the next step.
Step 3: Defeat Divine Beast Dancing Lion and Get the Divine Beast Head
Make your way to the very top of Belurat, Tower Settlement to reach the legacy dungeon boss. Defeat Divine Beast Dancing Lion and collect the item it drops. This item, Divine Beast Head, is essential for completing the next step in the Hornsent Grandam questline.
Step 4: Speak to Hornsent Grandam While Wearing the Divine Beast Head
With the Divine Beast Head in hand, return to Hornsent Grandam in the Storeroom. She will be asleep and unresponsive initially. To awaken and communicate with her, equip the Divine Beast Head. Exhaust her dialogue to receive the Watchful Spirit Incantation.
After this head back to the Site of Grace and rest to reset the area. Return to Hornsent Grandam and speak to her to receive Scorpion Stew. The Scorpion Stew consumable has two purposes:
- Boosts Physical Damage Negation: Temporarily increases physical damage negation and gradually restores HP when consumed by the player.
- Trade with Hornsent: Give a Scorpion Stew to Hornsent Grandam to receive 3x Furnace Visage.
You can only carry one Scorpion Stew at a time. However, you can return to Hornsent Grandam to obtain another while she waits for you to complete her questline.
Step 5: Defeat Messmer and Visit Hornsent Grandam
The final step in Hornsent Grandam’s questline requires you to defeat the Messmer, The Impaler boss in the Shadow Keep. After slaying this boss, return to the Storeroom and speak with Hornsent Grandam one last time. She will reward you with a Gourmet Scorpion Stew. Following this, she will mention that she must rest and will not speak to the player again.
