In Elden Ring players can encounter a jar NPC named Iron Fist Alexander. This NPC is stuck in Limgrave and if you help him, has a fairly long questline throughout the game. To learn how to complete this questline use our Elden Ring Iron Fist Alexander quest guide below.

Important: Complete the questline of Diallos alongside this quest to see it through to the end. The key item you get from Alexander is part of completing the Diallos questline.

Iron Fist Alexander Pot Questline

Iron Fist Alexander is a jar NPC that players can encounter during their playthrough of Elden Ring. If the Tarnished offers assistance to the jar they will start a questline that follows the main story of the game. Here’s where to you find him throughout the game:

  1. First interaction in Northern Stormhill near the bridge. On the cliff there. When you get close he talks to you. Offer assistance and hit him from behind to dislodge him. You get Triumphant Delight Gesture and a piece of Exalted Flesh for helping.
  1. Next found in Gael Tunnel on the border of Caelid and Limgrave. He’s behind the wooden door next to the boss door at the end of the tunnel.
  1. Is a summon during the Starscourge Radahn fight in Redmane Castle in Caelid. Appears in the plaza before the fight if you’ve met him before. Appears on the battlefield when the fight is over. He is gathering bodies to get stronger.
  1. South of the Cairn Study Hall tower in Liurnia. Stuck in the ground again. Free him using an Oil Pot which makes him “slippery” and then give him a hit. Gives 3x Exalted Flesh when freed.
  1. Next located in the Fire Wyrm fight arena to the southeast of Fort Laiedd heading up Mt. Gelmir. Defeat the wyrm then reload the area. Alexander is sitting in the lava in the southeast corner of the arena. Stand on the rocks in the middle then speak to Alexander. He will give you the Jar helmet.
  1. Is a summon for the Fire Giant fight in the Forge of the Giants.

Where to Find Alexander in Crumbling Farum Azula

When you speak to Alexander in Mt. Gelmir he mentions he is going to the location in the sky. This location is the Crumbling Farum Azula. This is the final area in Alexander’s questline. To find him in this location make your way forward until you reach the Temple Altar Site of Grace (where you fight the Godskin Duo bosses). From this location follow these steps:

  1. Leave the building heading north.
  1. Drop down and follow the path heading west/northwest to the third building with the dragon statues.
  1. Go upstairs in this building to find a Fog Gate that is opened using a Stonesword Key.
  1. Ride the elevator up to the Dragon Temple Lift Site of Grace.
  1. Follow the path forward until you encounter some archways crossing a gap. Cross the archways then crossover the building. On the next platform you will find Alexander waiting for you.
  1. Speak to Alexander to duel him. Defeat him to end his questline.

Iron Fist Alexander drops the Alexander’s Innards (Key Item), Shard of Alexander (Talisman) and the Warrior Jar Shard (Talisman) items when he is defeated during the duel. If defeated outside of the duel he drops only drops 1500 Runes and the Warrior Jar Shard (Talisman).

The Alexander’s Innards key item you receive at the end of this questline is used to complete Diallos’ questline. Once Diallos leaves the Volcano Manor he goes to Jarburg. Here, with the help of the Jar Bairn NPC, his quest can be completed.
