Step 1: Get the Access Token from Adam Smasher
Unlike other Iconic weapons, the Ba Xing Chong is a hardcoded post-game reward. You cannot sequence break or glitch your way into this vault early; the chest will remain locked until the game recognizes you’ve finished the main story.
- Beat the Boss: Progress to the final mission, “Nocturne Op55N1.” During the assault on Arasaka Tower, you will face Adam Smasher.
- Loot the Corpse: Once Smasher is defeated, approach his body before heading to the final objective. Loot the Access Token (an orange-tier keycard).
- The “One More Gig” Save: After the credits roll, choose “One More Gig” to return to the Night City map. You will spawn back at the Point of No Return with the Access Token permanently in your inventory.
Step 2: Go to the Ebunike Adam Smasher Vault
The vault is located on the Ebunike, the massive cargo ship docked in the Northside district of Watson. This is the same vessel where you previously encountered Grayson during the “Chippin’ In” quest.
1. Go to the Ebunike Docks
- Fast Travel: Head to the Ebunike Docks fast travel point.
- The Entrance: Walk through the main shipyard gates. Head straight toward the water until you see the massive hull of the ship on your right.
2. Board the Ship
- Locate the yellow gangplank on the side of the ship to board.
- Once on deck, turn toward the Bridge—the tall command tower at the back of the vessel.
3. Find the Secret Adam Smasher Stash Door on the Ebunike
- Climb the external stairs of the tower to the second level.
- Walk along the exterior walkway toward the rear-facing side of the tower.
- You will see a heavy metal door with a glowing orange keypad.
4. Use the Access Token to Enter
- Interact with the keypad. If you have the Access Token, the door will hiss open.
- The Prize: Inside, you’ll find the Ba Xing Chong Crafting Spec in a large, illuminated weapon crate on the right.
Bonus Secret: The Ebunike is also home to Johnny Silverhand’s Porsche 911. If you missed it during the “Chippin’ In” mission, you can find the crane controls nearby to lower the container and claim your ride.
Step 3: Craft the Ba Xing Chong
Finding the recipe is only half the battle. Because this is a Tier 5 Iconic weapon, you must build it from the “Crafting” menu using high-end materials.

- 40 Tier 5 Item Components: (Orange-tier parts)
How to Farm Tier 5 Components Fast
- Disassemble Loot: Break down Tier 5 weapons from endgame enemies instead of selling them.
- Component Exchange: In the Crafting tab, trade 5 Tier 4 (Purple) components for 1 Tier 5 (Orange).
- Airdrops: If you have Phantom Liberty, loot the red-smoke airdrops in Dogtown for a massive supply of high-tier parts.
Ba Xing Chong Iconic Ability and Weapon Details
Once you have the spec, you’ll need to craft it. In the 2.1 update, this weapon is a Tier 5 Iconic.
- Iconic Ability: This isn’t a normal shotgun. It fires explosive self-guided micro-missiles. It can lock onto up to six targets simultaneously. If you are below 25% health, its reload speed and Crit Chance skyrocket, and it gains a massive boost to Burn chance.
