How to Unlock the Motorcycle in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

In Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, players are able to traverse a large open world to pursue four different storylines. This traversal takes a number of different methods including riding a motorcycle. If you are wondering how to get your hands on a motorcycle for yourself, this guide will help. Below I show you how to unlock the motorcycle in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

When Do you Get the Motorcycle?

The motorcycle I am speaking about in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet is actually a Pokemon. There are two special Pokemon players get (depending on version of the game) during the opening section of the game. These Pokemon are Koraidon (Scarlet) and Miraidon (Violet). Both Koraidon and Miraidon serves as your motorcycle in-game.

Now before you run off and try and ride your Koraidon and Miraidon you must first complete the game’s prologue. This means reaching Neranja Academy and learning about the three different storylines in the game. Once you’ve completed that section of the game you will be able to freely roam the world. At this point you learn about the ability of Koraidon and Miraidon to turn into motorcycles you can ride.

To ride, once it is unlocked, simply push the + button. This causes your trainer to get on the Pokemon. While you are riding you can press the B button to make your Koraidon and Miraidon jump. This allows you to jump over objects out in the world. When you want to get off your Koraidon and Miraidon simply push the + button again to return to walking.

While you explore the open world in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet the motorcycle is very useful. This ability allows players to easily traverse the world. Since there is a bunch of regions to explore you can use the motorcycle and fast travel services to quickly cutdown your travel time getting around.
