In Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield there are a total of 400 Pokemon for players to catch. These Pokemon are split up between both games and require a sizable time investment to get them all. One way of speeding up the catching process is to get the Catching Charm. Below I will show you how to get the Catching Charm in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield.

Go Into Room at the Hotel Ionia

To get the Catching Charm for yourself you need to advance the Gym Championship five badges so you can access Circhester on Route 8/9. Once you are in Circhester make your way to the town square. Here you will see two hotels on the left and right sides of the square. Go inside the hotel on the left side of the square. Go through the lobby and enter the elevator. Take the elevator up then head all the way to the left and go into the room.

Receive Catching Charm from Director

Inside this room you will find a few NPCs hanging out. Speak to the doctor looking one at the back of the room. This NPC is called the Director. He will mention your Pokedex and will give you the Catching Charm to help you on your quest to all 400 Pokemon.

The Catching Charm is a key item that helps you increase the chance of getting a Critical Catch. The effects of this item apply as soon as you get the Catching Charm for yourself.
