The Nuevo Paraiso Gunslinger Outfit can be accessed via the Wardrobe in your tent if you have the DLC.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is all about living out that cowboy fantasy life in a sprawling open world. While you run around getting your western on you may want to change how your character looks and I don’t blame you. Thankfully there are a number of awesome outfits you can find and equip to do just that. Below I will show you how to change outfits in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Note: You need to beat the opening tutorial (Chapter 1) before you can change the clothing Arthur is wearing. This takes about 2 hours to complete. Once Chapter 1 is complete you get access to a number of gameplay systems which are unavailable during the tutorial. One of these gameplay mechanics is the camp. In the camp you can access your Wardrobe.

How to Equip Outfits

Equipping a new outfit (or changing outfits) is a fairly straightforward process in Red Dead Redemption 2. To change the clothing your character is wearing you need to go to the Wardrobe inside your Tent at camp. From here you can choose whichever outfit you think looks the best. There are a number of different outfits to find while playing through Red Dead Redemption 2, so always be on the lookout for new threads.

If you don’t want to wear a full outfit there you can select individual pieces of clothing to equip at the Wardrobe. The items you can equipped are:

  • Hats.
  • Coats.
  • Vests.
  • Shirts.
  • Pants.
  • Suspenders.
  • Chaps.
  • Boots.
  • Spurs.
  • Masks.
  • Bandanas.
  • Neckwear.
  • Gloves.
  • Weapon Equipment.
  • Satchels.
  • Talismans.

Play around with different combinations to find the style that best suits you. Also keep in mind that certain items like shirts can be modified to feature rolled up sleeves, open collars, and so on. When you find the look you like you can save it for quick use later.

Option 2: Change Outfit at Hotel/Lodging

Inside each hotel room is access to your Wardrobe.

If you don’t want to go all the way back to your camp to change your outfit, there is another option. Inside every town you will find a hotel in which you can rent a room for the night. If you rent a room you gain access to your Wardrobe. The Wardrobe can be accessed inside the room you rented. It acts the same as the Wardrobe in your tent in camp.

Option 3: Change Outfit from Horse

You can store 3 outfits on your horse.

Your horse acts as a sort of base when you are out travelling since it can carry so many different items. One of the items you can put on your horse are outfits. To do this, go to a Wardrobe and select the outfit you wish to store press the Store on Horse button to put the outfit on your horse.  You can store 3 outfits on your horse at a time.

How to use the outfits on the horse?

How in the world do you roll up sleeves? I’m still pretty early in chapter 2 and haven’t learned how to do that. Every time I go in my wardrobe and try to do it, there’s no option for it. Am I missing something?

Whoa… you finished chapter 1 in two hours?!?! It took me a little over four and I felt like I was rushing kinda. How on earth did you finish in two? Most of it is a cut scene that you can’t even skip through.
