How to Access NBA 2K23 Pre-Order and Edition Items

NBA 2K23 is out now and players jumping in for the first time may have pre-order and edition items available for them to start their journey with. These items range from in-game currency and gear to real-world services like NBA League Pass. To help you access it all here’s a quick how to access NBA 2K23 pre-order and edition items guide.

VC, MyTEAM Points Tokens Currencies, 10% XP Boost to MyTEAM

The first items players will unlock when the login to the game is Virtual Currency, MyTEAM Points and Tokens. Keep in mind theses currencies will appear in your account within 24 hours after the first time you login to the game. This means either starting up MyCAREER or MyTEAM. You can see your current balance in the top right corner of MyTEAM (as shown in the screenshot above). If the currencies do not appear contact 2K support.

The 10% XP Boost on MyTEAM Season Progression from the Championship Edition of the game applies automatically. Once you start playing MyTEAM you will gain additional XP received in the game mode.

MyTEAM Cards

The next set of items is the different MyTEAM cards players receive either from pre-ordering or buying the different versions of the game. Pre-orders get a 95 Devin Booker and 10 MyTEAM Promo Packs (delivered one a week). Edition cards are 23 MyTEAM Promo Packs, Sapphire Devin Booker and Ruby Michael Jordan, 1 Free Agent Option Pack, 1 Diamond Jordan Shoe, and 1 Ruby Coach Card Pack.

To claim your cards make your way to the MyTEAM game mode. On the MyTEAM screen tab right to the Pack Market screen. On this screen scroll down to Unopened Packs. Here you will find the packs you have currently available to claim. Claim the ones you want to open now.

Each week you will find more cards here as the MyTEAM Promo Packs are delivered. Additionally, the Locker Code rewards also appear on this page as well if they are a card.

MyCAREER Clothing Pre-order and Edition Pieces

In MyCAREER, after you’ve made your player you will arrive in your apartment in The City. At this point you can access the different clothing pieces that are part of the pre-order and different editions. To access clothing push start and tab over to MyPLAYER. Select Appearance and then select The City. On this screen you will find the different clothing pieces in the different categories:

Pick each option and equip your pre-order or edition clothing to have it equipped on your player. To change it simple return to this screen and select a different clothing item than the one you have equipped.

MyCAREER Skateboard and Go-Kart Skins

The next couple of items are located close to the clothing we unlocked above. These pieces are the custom-designed cover star skateboard and the Michael Jordan-themed Go-Kart. Both pieces are located on the tab to the right of clothing called Equipment. On this screen you will find options for Board and Four Wheels:

Pick each option and equip your pre-order or edition skin to have it applied to that piece of equipment. To change it simple return to this screen and select a different skin than the one you have equipped.

MyCAREER Boosts

Rounding out the collection of items you get from pre-ordering and buying different editions in the game is the different boosts you get in MyCAREER. These boosts come in three categories: MyCAREER Skull Type, Gatorade Boost, and Double XP Coins.

Both the MyCareer Skill Boosts and the Gatorade Boost are activated automatically. They are located on Progression > Get Boosts (shown above). They apply to your first 10 NBA Games in MyCAREER.

The Double XP Coin has to be activated to use in-game. This means navigating to Seasons > XP Coins. If you have one from your edition of the game you will see it here. To use it simply scroll over to it and push activate.

12 Months of the NBA League Pass Subscription

Important: The 12-month subscription to NBA League Pass is not available with the NBA 2K23 Championship Edition in Japan or China. Also, the NBA League Pass is not available in Belarus, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Kosovo, North Korea, Russia, South Sudan, Sudan, Swaziland, or Syria.

If you purchased the NBA 2K23 Championship Edition your final item is a 12-month subscription to the NBA League Pass service. This service allows you to watch stream NBA Games. Currently you cannot claim this portion of the edition bonus. When you can a code will be sent to you by email. Codes are being sent starting September 27th. When codes are rolled out the process to claim your membership will be included in your email. Once the emails are out I will update this portion of the guide.
