Cow Catcher – Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Guide
In the Yule Festival event in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla there are a couple of side missions players can complete if they have certain buildings built in their settlement. One of the festive missions is accessible if you build/have built the Cattle Farm building. This side mission, Cow Catcher, tasks players with retrieving cows that have escaped before they could be eaten during the Yule Festival. How to Start Cow Catcher
Before you can begin this side mission you must first build the Cattle Farm (west side of settlement at settlement level 3). Once you’ve built this building at your settlement this side mission will become available. To start the Cow Catcher mission head to the Cattle Farm and speak to Winfrith just outside the building. When you talk to this NPC she will be speaking to Bertham. Both NPCs will explain that the cows have gone missing. You and Bertham will join up and will receive the next quest objective to reach the shores.
Reach the Shore
Head to the south of the Cattle Farm until you reach the shores. On the dock jump onto the boat and sail it across to the other side of the river. On the other side of the river you will need to hunt the cows as your next step.
Hunt the Missing Cattle with Bertham
There are a total of four cows you need to hunt around this location. Three cows will be marked on your map as shown in the screenshot above. When you reach each cow you will need to defeat it. After you defeat a cow approach the body and loot it to get meat.
Once you’ve killed the three cows and gathered the meat off of them you will get a new location to visit. This location is situated further west of where the three cows were. Head to the location to the west to find the final cow. When you find this cow you need to wait for Bertham to reach it. When Bertham reaches the cow a cutscene will trigger. After this cutscene you will get the final mission objective.
Escort Bertham Back to Winfrith
Head back to the boat or swim across the river back to the settlement and then go to the Cattle Farm with Bertham. Speak to Winfrith to trigger a cutscene. During this cutscene Eivor will praise Bertham for being a slayer of beasts. After this interaction the mission will end.
For your efforts in this side mission you will receive 140 Yule Tokens and will unlock Bertham as an opponent in the Yule Brawl. That’s all there is to this mission.
