Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Starter Pokemon

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Starter Pokemon

When you begin your journey in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, you will have the choice of three starter Pokemon. These Pokemon appeared in Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon, so they should already be familiar to you. Below are the three Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon starter Pokemon you can choose from.

Rowlet

via Nintendo

Type: Grass/Flying

Rival’s Pokemon: Popplio

About: “Rowlet can attack without making a sound! It flies silently through the skies, drawing near to its opponent without being noticed, and then lashing out with powerful kicks. It can also attack from a distance using the razor-sharp leaves that form part of its feathers.” (Nintendo)

Rowlet is the best starting Pokemon in my humble opinion. Combining grass and flying makes it especially strong as it levels up and evolves. Rowlet also has the best looking final evolution form (Decidueye) of any of the starter Pokemon. Choose Rowlet if you want a relatively easy playthrough of Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.

Litten

via Nintendo

Type: Fire

Rival’s Pokemon: Rowlet

About: “Logical but also passionate, Litten always remains cool headed and doesn’t show its emotions on the surface.” (Nintendo)

Litten is somewhat middle of the road. Not really amazing, but not as bad as Popplio. The final form of Litten is pretty cool, but not quite as interesting as Decidueye. If you want to anchor your team with a fire type Pokemon choose Litten as your starter.

Popplio

Popplio

via Nintendo

Type: Water

Rival’s Pokemon: Litten

About: “Popplio’s swimming speed is known to exceed 25 mph. It’s better at moving in the water than on land. Still, when it’s on land, it takes advantage of the elasticity of its balloons to perform acrobatic stunts and jumps.” (Nintendo)

Popplio is basically a seal mixed with a clown. You don’t want this in your party… I’m kidding, but seriously, go with either Rowlet or Litten instead. Popplio is not really amazing and doesn’t really evolve into anything amazing either. Trust me on this.

Popllio for life! I always loved water types especially vaporeon and popplio

I love cats so Litten Is my favorite

I think Popplio is the best. Most people just don’t like the look but I think the look is fine. If you are looking for a Pokemon with the least amount of weaknesses then Popplio is the way to go.

When I first saw Litten I was thinking I was going to pick Litten until I saw the last evolution and the way it looked just ended up turning me off.

So then it was between Rowlet and Popplio and looking at how they both looked I picked Popplio and liked that it was also going to be a fairy type once it became Primarina.

Rowlett is King! Popplio is made to appeal to the nostalgic past, when water Pokemon were cool. No more cute Pokemon, I want deadly fighters.

  5. Meep says:

Rowlet for life. Its finall evolution is grass dark which also can take out the other two. This pokemon has healing and damaing capibilties and is by far the best starter

  6. Jack says:

You are an absolute joke, lol. Popplio’s line is, objectively, the best starter line. Water/Fairy typing is amazing and stats-wise, its final evolution destroys the other two easily. For anyone looking for an objective guide to the starters, don’t listen to this clown.
