How to Get the Downy Crake Layered Head in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne

In the new Full Bloom event in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne there is a new Layered Head for players to unlock called the Downy Crake. This new Layered Head makes the hunter appear as if they have a bird resting on their head. To help you get the new Layered Head, use our how to get the Downy Crake Layered Head guide below.

Complete Skyward Snipers Event

To get the new Layered Head you will need to complete a new Master Rank Event called Skyward Snipers. In order to complete this mission you will need to catch 5 Grandfather Mantagrelss. To catch the Grandfather Mantagrells make your way to the highest areas of the Coral Highlands (11 – 13) and look to the skies. These giant bug like creatures can be seen floating through the sky. Shoot at them with your Slinger then swap over to your net to catch them when they come crashing to the ground. When you complete this mission you will earn a quest completion reward of a Downy Crake Ticket II. This item can be turned into the Smithy to create the Downy Crake Layered Head.

How to Craft the Downy Crake Layered Armor

After you’ve gotten a Downy Crake Ticket II you can head to the Smithy to craft the new Layered Armor called the Downy Crake. This Layered Head can be found under Forge Equipment > Layered Armor > Downy Crake. To craft the Downy Crake hat you need the following:

  • 1x Downy Crake Ticket.
  • 1x Paolumu Thickfur.

Once you’ve crafted this Layered Armor it will be added to your inventory. You can then equip on your character via your item box if you so desire. Enjoy having a bird on your head.
