GTA Online The Kortz Center Heist Guide
Rockstar Games just dropped a massive surprise update for GTA Online, introducing the highly anticipated Kortz Center Heist. This high-stakes operation tasks players with infiltrating the iconic cultural hub, stealing priceless artwork, and flipping it to overseas buyers for a massive payout.
Like classic GTA heists, you will need to complete a series of setup missions and preps before tackling the final score. Whether you are running it solo or pulling it off with a crew, we have you covered. Check out our ultimate GTA Online The Kortz Center Heist guide below for the best approach strategies, prep walkthroughs, and reward breakdowns.
How to Start The Kortz Center Heist
You can launch the score as either the Heist Host or a Crew Member—and that choice directly determines your upfront setup costs and final payout percentage.
Host
To host and prep The Kortz Center Heist you have to purchase the Art Studio additional room for a Mansion. This room costs GTA$4,700,000 ($1 million discounted for those who did the Fine Art Collector Program) and can be purchased from the Prix Luxury Real Estate website.
Upon purchasing the Art Studio room you can access it in the Basement Level 2 of your mansion or the quick select menu when entering the mansion itself.
In the Art Studio room you will find a Heist Planning Board you can interact with to start the heist and the preparation steps for it. The heist launch fee is GTA$100,000.
Crew Member
If you want to skip the massive real estate investment, you can join the operation as a Crew Member. You can do this by accepting an invite from a friend who owns the Art Studio or by joining a matchmaking lobby with a stranger.
As a Crew Member, you save millions by avoiding the mansion purchase and the GTA$100,000 setup fee. The trade-off is financial: because you take on zero financial risk, your final payout percentage is significantly lower than the host’s cut.
The Kortz Center Heist Entry Points, Required Prep Work, Optional Prep Work, Points of Interest, and Targets
To begin the Scope Out, head to your planning board and follow the on-screen prompts to travel to the location. Once you arrive, your main goal is to search the area for security vulnerabilities, entry points, and valuable assets.
While exploring the grounds, use your in-game phone to take pictures of key points of interest and send them to Raf. Snapping photos of security cameras, guard routes, and alternate entryways will unlock new approach methods on your planning board, making the final heist significantly easier to pull off.
Entry Points
There are four Entry Points you can use to complete this heist:
- Staff Entrance: You have to take a picture of this to advance the Scope Out mission. It is to the right of the Bell Building’s main entrance.
- Skylight: Go on to the roof of the Bell Building. there is a Skylight there.
- Loading Bay: North of the hedge maze there is a ramp leading down in the parking lot next to a guard shack. This is the loading bay.
- Sewer: In the north end of the hedge maze there is a sewer grate. It requires a the Manhole Key to open. The Manhole Key can spawn in six possible locations.
Required Pre Work
There are six required Pre-Work activities to complete. You will unlock enough to do the heist by following the Scope Out objectives. To unlock more options you need to find the four entry points and Points of Interests.
- Infiltration Gear (Entry)
- Staff Key Card (Staff Entrance)
- Tactical Equipment (Skylight)
- Alpha Mail Disguise (Loading Bay)
- Hazmat Suit (Sewer)
- Unmarked Weapons
- Military
- Street
- Security
- Getaway Vehicle (Exit)
- Manchez (Rear)
- Annihilator Stealth (Roof)
- Armored Caracara (Car Park)
- Equipment
- Access Code
- Hacking Device
These will unlock naturally for you by following the objectives during the first Scope Out mission.
Optional Prep Work Unlocks
There are five optional Prep Work things you can do to make the heist easier and more rewarding. These are unlocked by finding Points of Interest and sending them to Raf:
| Optional Prep Work | POI Unlock | What It Does |
|---|---|---|
| Guard Shipment | Look at the truck in the loading area while using the CCTV. | Reduces the weapons and armor available to the Kortz Center security. |
| Guard Routes | Take a photo of the radio antenna on top of the Bell Building. | Shows the positions of all the security guards at the Kortz Center. |
| Glass Cutter | Take a photo of the reinforced glass displays on the second floor of the Bell Building. | Provides a way to steal any secondary targets being held in the reinforced glass display cases. |
| Power Drills | Look at the Lock Boxes in the vault while using the CCTV. | Can drill into the lockboxes inside the vault for additional loot. |
| EMP Charges | Take a photo of the electrical power box on the south side of the Bell Building. You can find it right next to the stairs that lead up to the roof. | Disables lights, security cameras, and destroys any CCTV footage. It also unlocks an additional staircase connecting the exhibition and the basement. |
There are a couple of additional Points of Interest you might want to snap photos of:
- Case Alarm: Behind the security desk on the bottom floor of the Bell Building.
- Security Booth: By the Loading Bay there is a guard booth.
The above unlocks are entirely optional. Doing them gives you more options to complete the heist. Each unlock also makes it so either the heist is easier or you can earn more cash from it.
Primary and Secondary Targets
The point of The Kortz Center Heist is to steal a requested painting. This painting is the Primary Target. It is always located inside the vault.
Alongside the Primary Target there are Secondary Targets you can steal. These targets are all of the different art, sculptures, and jewelry items on display.
While you are scoping out the place you can see what each target is worth by snaping a photo of it and then sending it to Raf. Raf will provide you with a dollar value on that piece of art. This allows you to plan what you want to steal.
The Kortz Center Heist Planning Board Extras
On the planning board you will notice there are two extras that you can buy: Vault Keypad and Advanced Avionics. These are optional purchases:
- Vault Keypad (Free): Allows you to practice the Vault Keypad mini-game in the Art Studio. Must have the Hacking Device first.
- Advanced Avionics ($1,200,000): Improves the handling of the Annihilator Stealth so Pernell Moss can more easily evade the Cops during the Getaway. He can evade them completely if the Cops aren’t aware of your location when he takes off. This is only used on the Annihilator Stealth getaway vehicle.
Neither is really all that worth getting in my opinion. I think the Advanced Avionics is way overpriced for what it is. There’s no harm in snagging the Vault Keypad since it is free, but the mini-game is easy to complete.
Once you’ve completed everything listed above you can start the heist. How you go about completing it is up to you. The heist can be done solo or with a group. Solo you can’t hold as much loot, so your payout is lower. Keep that in mind.
