How Many Heists are in GTA Online?

Before we get to the list there are a few things to touch on regarding heists. The first is that heists become accessible to players once they reach rank 12 in the online mode. The second thing to keep in mind is that most heists require multiplayer in some form be it 1-3 additional players. The number of heists in GTA Online currently stands at 10 total, but this will change as Rockstar continues to update the game.

1. The Classic Apartment Heists (2015)

These are the original heists that started it all. They must be launched from a High-End Apartment planning room. With the exception of the introductory tutorial, they require exactly 4 players.

  • The Fleeca Job (2 players – serves as the tutorial)
  • The Prison Break (4 players)
  • The Humane Labs Raid (4 players)
  • Series A Funding (4 players)
  • The Pacific Standard Job (4 players)

2. The Doomsday Heist (2017)

Launched from an owned Facility. This is a massive, story-driven heist split into three distinct acts, each functioning as its own separate heist with prep work, setup missions, and a finale. It can be played with 2 to 4 players.

  • Act I: The Data Breaches
  • Act II: The Bogdan Problem
  • Act III: The Doomsday Scenario

3. The Diamond Casino Heist (2019)

Launched from an owned Arcade. It is highly replayable and can be approached in three distinct ways: Silent & Sneaky, The Big Con, or Aggressive. It requires 2 to 4 players.

4. The Cayo Perico Heist (2020)

Launched from the Kosatka Submarine. This was a massive milestone for GTA Online as the first heist that can be completed entirely solo (1 to 4 players). It takes place on a private tropical island.

5. The Kortz Center Heist (2026)

The latest major heist, launched by upgrading a Mansion with an Art Studio basement expansion. Working alongside professional hustler Raf De Angelis, you scope out and infiltrate Los Santos’ premier cultural museum to steal rare masterpieces. It can be played solo or with up to 4 players.

“Heist-Style” Story Raids & Mini-Heists

While not categorized under the traditional “Heist” planning boards, Rockstar has added several major multi-part mission strands that feature prep work and a grand finale, essentially functioning as mini-heists.

  • The Contract (Dr. Dre Storyline): Launched from an Agency. You complete security contracts and investigate leaks to recover Dr. Dre’s stolen phone, culminating in a major studio finale.
  • The Cluckin’ Bell Farm Raid: Initiated by a phone call from Vincent Effenburger. A solo-friendly, zero-startup-cost raid on a cartel-run fast-food factory.
  • KnoWay Out: Launched via a phone call from a paranoid Avi Schwartzman. A series of tactical operations to dismantle the FIB’s rogue autonomous surveillance network.
  • Oscar Guzman Flies Again: Launched from the McKenzie Field Hangar. A smuggling-focused operations string where you take on a massive defense conglomerate to hijack a military gunship.
  • Salvage Yard Robberies: Launched from a Salvage Yard. These are weekly-rotating vehicle “mini-heists” where you plan and execute targeted car thefts.
  • Auto Shop Contracts: Launched from an Auto Shop. These are quick, two-setup mini-heists (like The Superdollar Deal or The Union Depository Contract) that can be run completely solo.

The missions listed above are all currently playable in GTA Online. These heists take longer to complete than normal missions and require paying a fee to start. With that said heists are one of the best legitimate ways of making money currently in the game. They are especially nice for players to farm as you can repeat them often. When more heists are released this list will be updated with the pertinent information.
