Steam Deck OLED Announced By Valve

Earlier today, an RSS feed error accidentally unveiled the upcoming release of a new Steam Deck. Shortly afterward, Valve officially confirmed that the Steam Deck OLED is scheduled for release in the coming days.

News of the new upgraded Steam Deck should come with littel suprise to fans of the handheld. There have been rumors that a refresh was on the horizon, but what exactly it would contain was a mystery. Now, thanks to the official product page we know what the Steam Deck OLED contains:

  • 50Whr battery; 3-12 hours of gameplay (content-dependent)
  • 45W Power supply with 2.5m cable
  • Carrying case with removable liner

These two new versions are joined by a Limited Edition Steam Deck OLED, featuring a unique colorway and everything in the 1TB version. Limited supplies available.

Notable upgrades comprise an HDR OLED screen, an improved battery for extended life, and the incorporation of Wi-Fi 6E. These changes directly address significant concerns from the original Steam Deck, particularly addressing issues with the screen and battery life that users had hoped to see resolved in the new release.
