STALKER 2 Release Date Moved to End of 2022, Developers Announce

GSC Game World, developers behind the upcoming STALKER 2, have announced that the game will be delayed into December 2022. The new STALKER 2 release date will be December 8th, 2022, making the delay roughly seven months from the previously stated release date.

News of the delay came from a statement photo on the STALKER official twitter. This statement lays out the reasoning behind the game’s delay. The delay, according to GSC, comes down to a need to “fulfill our vision and achieve the desired stated of the game.” The studio also points out that STALKER 2 is the largest project in the studio’s history which require thorough testing and polish that is unlike anything they’ve taken before.

STALKER 2 has long been the topic of much hype and anticipation. The game was initially announced way back in 2010 only to be cancelled a year later. Since then, rumors have swirled about the game being in development. Finally in 2018 the game was officially announced to the world with the release of its official website. A trailer showing the title appeared during the Xbox Showcase in 2020.

When STALKER 2 does release it will be coming to PC and Xbox X/S on December 8th, 2022. Fans can pre-order the game now on Steam, Epic Games Store, Windows Store and Xbox.
