Spider-Man 2 is one of the bigger titles coming this month.

Sony’s latest financial statements bring to light the impressive figures for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 sales numbers within its initial 11 days on the market. The game swung its way to a 5 million copies sold during this brief timeframe.

After hitting the shelves on October 20th, Sony swiftly disclosed remarkable sales figures a mere four days later. It was at that moment they unveiled Spider-Man 2 as Sony’s fastest-selling first-party game, boasting an impressive 2.5 million copies sold within the game’s initial 24 hours of release.

With 5 million copies sold in just 11 days, Spider-Man 2 has far surpassed the performance of its predecessor. In comparison, the first game struggled to reach the same sales milestone, taking a hundred days to achieve 5 million copies sold.

In celebration of reaching the milestone Insomniac Games posted a thank you message to X (formerly Twitter). This message reads:

Woo! We’re incredibly honored to announce Marvel’s #SpiderMan2PS5 has sold over 5 MILLION COPIES! Thank you to our incredible community for supporting us and helping us reach this milestone! #BeGreaterTogether

Although Spider-Man 2 marked a triumph for the Spider-Man series, it doesn’t claim the title of the best-selling PlayStation game within the first 11 days of release. That honor belongs to Sony Santa Monica’s God of War Ragnarok, which achieved the remarkable feat of selling 5.1 million copies in just four-days.

As we step into the peak shopping season, Spider-Man 2 sales are expected to flourish, riding the wave of momentum. The game, positioned as a standout for PlayStation 5, claims a prominent spot, especially with Black Friday and the winter holiday sales fast approaching.

The quarterly figures offered insights into Sony’s lifetime PlayStation 5 sales—totaling 46.6 million units since release.
