Horizon Forbidden West delayed into 2022 says multiple reports
The upcoming PlayStation exclusive Horizon Forbidden West has been delayed into 2022 says multiple reports. This delay follows numerous other titles that have been pushed into next year thanks to the current pandemic work environment.
Reports on the Horizon Forbidden West delay come from both Bloomberg and industry insider Jeff Grubb. The Guerrilla Game’s sequel will not release until Q1 of 2022. The initial launch was holiday 2021 with PlayStation Studio boss Hermen Hulst stating it was still “on track to release this holiday season.” Unfortunately it appears there has been some internal delays that have made this release date improbable.
Horizon Forbidden West is one of the larger PlayStation exclusive titles coming down the pipeline. Other titles have already experienced delays including God of War 2 which should be coming in 2022 as well.
The first look at Horizon Forbidden West was during the PlayStation State of Play in May. This brief gameplay look highlighted a variety of new features coming in the sequel. Players will be able to climb, swim, and use a glider to get around. That footage is available here.
Fans of Aloy need not fear the delay. Genshin Impact has created a crossover event with Horizon Forbidden Dawn that sees the main character added to the popular title. Aloy’s bow will also be in the game as well.
