Hogwarts Legacy Has Been Delayed, New Release Date Set for February 2023
Sad news Harry Potter fans. The upcoming Portkey Games title Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed from the planned Holiday 2022 release date into next year. The new release date for the title is now February 10th, 2023.
New Release Date Revealed for Hogwarts Legacy
News of the delay came from the official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter account. The developers released a statement to fans revealing the new release date and details on the different platform releases. The tweet said the following:
“Hogwarts Legacy will launch on February 10, 2023 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The Nintendo Switch launch date will be revealed soon. The team is excited for you to play, but we need a little more time to deliver the best possible game experience.”
The studio then followed up the post with a short video from WB Games Avalanche. This video addresses the delay with Chandler Wood, Community Manager at Avalanche, Software speaking briefly on the delay. WB Avalanche is helping out with development along side Portkey Games.
When Hogwarts Legacy does finally release it will do so on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Although the Switch version will release separately on a different date.
Hogwarts Legacy is a slice-of-life simulator in which players take on the role of a student at the school of Hogwarts. Players will attend classes, explore an open-world, and battle a villain as they advance through the main story. You can view the gameplay trailer here.
