It is slated to come to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and Xbox One. This puts the launch about 4 months away (barring any sort of delay).

If you are not ready to pick up the game without playing it first there is going to be open beta for this military title. The first round will be a closed limited playtest in July. This test will be on an invite only-basis and will be geared towards players that are veterans of the series. Following the playtest there are both closed an open betas planned for deeper into 2021. More information on beta access should be expected as we get closer to the game’s release. Pre-ordering does get you early access to the betas as well so keep that in mind if you need to play first.
Is there Singleplayer in Battlefield 2042?
Singleplayer in the Battlefield series has often been hit or miss. One the one hand there have been some decent campaigns while others have been duds. Dice appears to be focusing more on multiplayer this time around. Battlefield 2042 designer director Daniel Berlin told Eurogamer that they’ve opted to focus all studio resources on creating the best multi-player experience they can. This means there is no single-player in Battlefield 2042.
This announcement is not to say there will be zero story in the game. Dice is attempting to weave narrative into the multi-player experience by introducing the new specialists who are more character based than previous classes. These No-Pats will experience massive events in-game that will fit the overarching narrative of the world Dice is creating.
Is There Battle Royale in Battlefield 2042?
After learning about single-player not being in the game the second follow up question you might have is whether BR will make an appearance. As of right now the answer is no. Again like the single-player reasoning, Dice has decided to focus their attention on doing what they do best. Large scale traditional multiplayer experiences.
Will There Be a Season Pass in Battlefield 2042?
Battlefield 2042 is moving towards a live service approach by introducing a Battle Pass system. The first year of launch will feature four seasons, four battle passes, and four new specialists for players to spend their money on. Like other game’s in the genre the season passes will have both free and paid tiers of unlocks.
How Large of Matches are in Battlefield 2042?
One thing Dice does really well is creating large scale battles for players to experience. With the new technology available in both PC and next-gen consoles there will be multiplayer matches available of 128-players per lobby. This goes for PC and Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Both Xbox One and PS4 will only support up to 64 players in a lobby.
What is the Setting of Battlefield 2042?
As had been rumored for a while now the setting of Battlefield 2042 is near future in the year 2042. This places the game 100 years before Battlefield 2142. Since it is near future there is some newer tech for players to use but it is not fully futuristic. Alongside new tech there are new specialists players can equip that have special abilities that can be used on the battlefield.
Speaking of battlefields there is a nice mix of locations available in the game. Each location has an overarching theme of natural disasters. These disasters play a role in how matches play out. There are things like sandstorms, tornadoes, and more that can occur while playing the game.
When is the Next Battlefield 2042 Livestream?
While a lot of information has been revealed about the Dice shooter, we still haven’t seen exactly how the game plays. A gameplay stream is slated for June 13th. This stream will reveal how the game looks and plays. There will also be more announcements to come as we near the release date.
