Battlefield 2042 designer director Daniel Berlin told Eurogamer that they’ve opted to focus all studio resources on creating the best multi-player experience they can. This means there is no single-player in Battlefield 2042.

This announcement is not to say there will be zero story in the game. Dice is attempting to weave narrative into the multi-player experience by introducing the new specialists who are more character based than previous classes. These No-Pats will experience massive events in-game that will fit the overarching narrative of the world Dice is creating.
