Abandoned trailer and app delayed again
The reveal trailer for the mysterious Abandoned game out of indie studio BLUE BOX Game Studios has been delayed again. This marks the second time the reveal has been delayed as it was initially planned to release on June 25th.
If you haven’t been following the saga of this PlayStation 5 title it is well worth a bit of internet sleuthing. The initial teaser for the game appeared back in April and didn’t really show us much. The internet, though, grabbed onto the title and wild speculation began to appear around it. Some theories floating around include the involvement of Hideo Kojima and the possibility of this being a Silent Hill title.
Much of the internet’s speculation hasn’t been concretely proven in any way. This has led to the indie studio dealing with the increased hype around their upcoming cinematic horror survival shooter. They’ve gone so far as to issues a statement regarding Kojima’s involvement.
To fully reveal the game the studio is developing a trailer-app that will release on PS5. Little information exists about the app besides it containing the reveal trailer and some other functionality. The studio pushed back the app’s release date on their official Twitter, pointing to bugs and localization issues as being the major hang-ups.
The studio has given a tentative release date of August now. With that said it remains to be seen if the studio can hit their mark. More time is always welcome on development, so I wouldn’t fault them there too much.
